I'm a full time Christian apologist constantly refuting Christian antagonists, atheists and others who oppose Christ with specious & slippery rhetoric. My tools are and Info Select v9 to keep track of my most effective and re-usable scriptural arguments. Once you have something that works well, paste it around the net - Youtube, blogs, so that Satan is not the only voice out there.

I keep finding more REALLY USEFUL FEATURES for full time soldiers who cannot afford to waste time or keystrokes. I'm using ctrl-L to build my lists using the MANY well thought out "copy ref, verse, verse until, chapter, range" OPTIONS to extract what I need.

I learned only the beginning quote is needed for exact phrase searches - huge time and keystroke saver. And if I need more I just add a wildcar* and this covers 99% of my "searching nee*

And I just found the ctrl-o "Separate into Paragraphs with Headings." This is PERFECT for public reading on a big screen and not found in other apps.

You've spared me much tedium and the interface is BEAUTIFUL, colorful and inspired.

I had to say thanks again and I hope good people realize this caliber of software COSTS YOU A LOT and remember to support and thank you through donations. - Thanks Costas!

"The Angel" I am glad to hear that you donated. It is encouraging to find other people who have put money into "The Word". Most of us can at least afford a few dollars, yet we do not give. We fail to realize that a few dollars can go a long way. We need to encourage others to donate or buy modules so that this work can continue. "The Angel" you are a blessing and an example to us all.

I used Bible Works for years, considered by seminaries to be the best.

THE WORD by Costas on this site BLOWS BIBLE WORKS AWAY in many respects. For instance, browsing, reading, navigating and having all kinds of independent windows for Bible Class or a Church Sermon - TheWord excels in these. As a preacher, Bible Works is not great for public reading.

Also, the ability to QUICKLY change font size in each window without hassle is PRICELESS. And it's much prettier than Bible Works in fonts and everything is so easy to change so quickly. So much easy customization. Bible Works has some but IT'S A HASSLE and limited. And Bible Works 8 takes 2-5 Gigs of space and requires a complicated install that is not easily portable. TheWord fits on a usb drive.

And copying large swaths of text is FANTASTICALLY customizable and quick in TheWord but a comparative curmudgeon in Bible Works. I switched to TheWord for its copy and format options.

Plus Costas has worked his HEART OUT to give this amazing Bible reader/tool to the world for free. He's helped me personally when I had questions and never asked anything in return.

So I conscience wouldn't let me neglect this priceless work from this servant of Jesus Christ.

Wonderful program! I note a spelling error in Vine's Dictionary under the entry for 'severity'. The word 'statue' should be 'statute'. Also I am struggling to make a New User Module to incorporate a commentary I have written in Microsoft Word. The help file hasn't really helped a lot. Any suggestions?

I have been using your software for about two years on my office PC. I just downloaded the version 3.2 and I am proud plus the fact that it is free (of course fully paid for by some great guys - just like salvation).
First of all, I thank God for your lives and committment and trust the Lord to be a partner very soon.
I wish we can have more versions like NLT and NIV.
Finally, kindly look into launching a mobile Bible app for smartphones. I have no doubts that it would be a great blessing since the world is moving virtually everything possible to mobile phones....
God bless you.

With love from Lagos, Nigeria

I am a Burundian Christian.
I can't believe this work is a result of mere human enterprise. It simply is a wholly inspiration and I feel profoundly indepted for you brother who initiated this project. Please advise me on how a person in Bujumbura could send his/her contributon. God bless you.

Hello Costas,
I have discovered your software!
Words cannot express how happy I am, that you have designed the interface and colour scheme so well...
It took me literally less than 60 seconds (on first time opening + off a pen drive )
to have the whole colour scheme / font exactly the way I like it.
Utterly incredible.
(I have been waiting 5 years for an alternative commercial version of Bible software to do a fraction similar but with no significant result etc)
Consider this to be a sincere and enthusiastic commendation for your efforts :-)

I am extremely impressed by your software, and may God bless you abundantly. I am running it in Wine on Linux Mint and so far so good. The program is very well thought out and extremely well-written.

I praise GOD for this free software. It's very very useful to me - to read, to search and to refer concordance, commentaries etc, I'm using tamil Bible also. There some spelling mistakes in tamil. I believe that you'll correct it very soon. Thank you.

Herein as to us has been manifested the love of God, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son a propitiation for our sins.  (I John 4:9,10)
