More often than not, we have no way of knowing when an update to a work is available until some kind person notifies us... so now we know.

theWord modules have the version # listed in the properties.
theWord download page posts the version.
There are thousands of TWM modules floating around cyberspace; there is no way to know who authored them all.
Maybe one of the above posters can create a clearinghouse and implement your suggestions.
