Re: AHLB causes 100% CPU on closure
openSUiSE Tumbleweed, WINE 8.19, TW v.6.0.1.1533, AHLB v.1-4 It works fine for me, nothing like the CPU or font issues described. First, reinstall AHLB and see if anything changes. If the problem is still there, it's kind of a pain but you could try a new config.ini file - make a backup of your curr...

Re: M-Strong module + Wine 8.2 = Rebellion of the Fonts (but only in some pages)?
If you really need Uniscribe support, Crossover Linux might provide better support than standard WINE. They do have a free trial version so you could check it out. I'm not sure if it is possible to override the default behavior for TW though. iirc, there's a routine in TW that detects the presence o...

Re: M-Strong module + Wine 8.2 = Rebellion of the Fonts (but only in some pages)?
from the changelog for 1502:
- added support for option 'no.uniscribe=1' in '[general]' section in config.ini to turn-off uniscribe rendering engine in windows (it is turned off by default on linux/wine).

Re: Arch Linux: No internet Support
Yup, that's why I suggested running theWord from the console a few days ago. You would have seen something like "err:winediag:gnutls_initialize failed to load libgnutls". Also the part about 32-bit support in WINE. Archlinux isn't broken, it just doesn't install all 32-bit libraries by def...

Re: Arch Linux: No internet Support
Try running theWord in a console and see what it throws for errors.
e.g. wine /pathto/theword.exe
and btw, TW is a 32-bit program so it needs 32-bit support in WINE.

Re: How to set up theWord on Linux for the best experience
The tahoma.ttf you get with winetricks is a copy of the file officially and freely distributed by Microsoft years ago.

Re: How to set up theWord on Linux for the best experience
Note regarding the Tahoma font: I have used theWord for many years now on several distros including Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and openSUSE. In each case, I have used the helper package to download and install Core Fonts from Microsoft. I have used winetricks to install the official MS Tahoma font since it is...

Re: Save Layout Enhancement
Thoughts: If you have several different layouts, things get kinda crowded and confusing with duplicates for each. I presently have 14 unique layouts that each serve a particular purpose. To restore an original, you would need to load that one and immediately save it over the messed up one. Otherwise...

Save Layout Enhancement
It would be helpful to have tw automatically prompt to save the current layout when switching to a new layout. A prompt is necessary because sometimes I mess up the layout and want the original back. I know Ctrl-Shift-S brings up the save prompt but I don't always remember to do it.

Re: Verse Target and Search results
Yeah, if the Verse Target is the active view (last clicked one) it shows up there whether the box is checked in Options or not. Selecting "Jump to searched Bible..." changes the displayed version which I often do not want. If clicking on the search results followed the same "logic&quo...

Verse Target and Search results
When a Bible View is designated as a Verse Target, clicking on a verse hyperlink displays the verse in that view. Clicking on a verse in an F3 Bible Search view displays the verse in the active Bible view, not the Verse Target. It would be helpful to have a choice in F3 Bible Search view Options to ...

Verse reference recognition anomaly
TW properly recognizes Song of Solomon 1:1 and Song of Songs 1:1 (actual chapter:verse is not important) but the hyperlink does not include the complete book name. TW also recognizes Song 1:1, Solomon 1:1 and Songs 1:1 and will automatically hyperlink them. TW does not include the leading "Song...

Re: Unable to view bibles in Greek and Tamil
In the File/Preferences window, there are two tabs - Bible Texts and Fonts. Make sure the font selections on the Fonts tab point to fonts that really exist on your computer. If there is a Bible module that does not display correctly, set the font for that module on the Bible Texts tab to a font that...

Re: "Copy and paste to editor" action
My "normal" action is to enter a verse reference in my sermon notes and then have the text after it all in the same view. I can't recall ever copying from one view and pasting to another view. Like I said in the initial post, I have used the workaround always because the programmed action ...

Re: "Copy and paste to editor" action
Right-click on the verse reference hyperlink
It should be inserted after the complete reference.
The cursor is immediately before the S in Solomon.
The text is inserted at the cursor position, splitting the reference in two pieces. It should be inserted after the complete reference.
