Install Problem
Hi Kostas! Looking forward to v5.0. I am having trouble installing / upgrading though. I'm on Win 10 upgrading from v4. I get a dialog with the following message "The installer should only be run by the main theWord installer". I tried changing the installation location and also tried doin...

Moving paid modules to new PC [Solved]
I ran into a problem moving everything to my new PC. The registration keys for the Amplified Bible and NASB bundle failed. After that, the registration dialog would not open until I deleted the entries for NASB and Amplified in the file locked.bibles.list. That allowed the dialog to open but but the...

Re: Installation reported as malware
I had the same issue. Avast detected the installer as Win32: Malware-gen. I marked it in Avast as OK. I had to turn off Avast. I get a fair amount of false positives from Avast. I'm running Windows 8.1.

Re: Spell Checking
This is an old thread but I have an update to share. I am working on an in-depth study of Galatians and began to miss a spell-checker in my commentary notes. I decided to give Tiny Spell another try and downloaded the "+" version which after a trial period costs $10. I'm glad I did. The af...

Re: TheWord on the tablets
I too would love to see TheWord on Android. But I know it is not simply a matter of making a few tweaks to make it run on iOS or Android. Development in Android or iOS means that the source code must be rewritten in another programming language and that it must be supported in the other languages. F...

Re: Overlooking Modules To Be Placed In Sets
This is a great new feature. I do have one more idea. I would like it if the Define Module Sets window allowed us to choose a set to edit from a drop down of all user-defined sets. Right now it looks like I have to make the user set I want to edit to be the active set. Then when I open the dialog, t...

Re: Dual Instances (Compact Mode) and Dual Monitors
One of the things I love about TheWord is the ability to have floating windows. I have 2 monitors, one widescreen and one that is 4:3. The way I like to work is to have the widescreen display show the main program window with 3 Bible windows and 3 book windows. On the second monitor I keep search wi...

Re: Creating book modules from pdf documents
There are 2 types of PDFs. The first was created from text or a scanned and OCR'd image of text. The second is created from an image of text. The technique you use will depend on the type of PDF you have. If you can select text in the PDF, you can convert it as Manuel suggested. If not, it was creat...

Re: Ctrl+A in Vers Jump Edit Box
Just a thought: CTRL+A in all Windows programs will select the text in the ACTIVE window, that is, the window that has the focus (the window you last clicked inside of). It sounds like you clicked outside of your window with CTRL+A and then pasted into your notes, in inadvertently putting a verse re...

Re: How to create your own download package
Costas-
You never cease to amaze me! What a great idea! I was just thinking about putting together a basic package that I could recommend for people to install and then I find this post. This will make it really easy to do.
Thanks!
Dave

Re: The power of collections
Jim - your ideas on using collections like this are really good. I haven't thought of topically arranging books in the same way as you recommend, but I'm going to start now.
Thanks,
Dave
