Re: A few suggestions.

Hi Marinesgt., Welcome to a better way of doing things! I've been using TW for a little over two years, and I'm still amazed by all of the great features included in this program. Since you have been using a vastly inferior product, you'll quickly come to appreciate some of TW's advantages. The inte...

Common English Bible

I was wondering if an attempt had been made to add the Common English Bible as a theWord module. Printed versions of the NT are currently available to purchase, and the entire bible is to be released next month. Information about the translation is available at http://www.commonenglishbible.com/. Th...

Re: OCR Machen's Greek Grammar

It's hard to be certain without the ISBN #, but I found a pdf copy of what might be the book you are trying to find. If the ISBN # is 0-02-373480-9, the copyright was renewed by Machen in 1951. You can take a look at the book that I found at http://www.scribd.com/doc/6742335/NT-Greek-Grammar-by-J-Gr...

Re: tra+ interlinear Bible

Hi sori, You did a really good job on this module. I noticed a problem on Mark 1:1; it appears that you translated this verse into Spanish rather than English. You currently have: "PRINCIPIO DEL EVANGELIO CRISTO, HIJO DE DIOS." You might want to consider changing this to something like: (A...

Darwin,

If you are talking about the module posted at Douglas Hamp's site (http://www.mediafire.com/thewordmodules), the article was written by Christopher Pope. You can find this article at http://web.archive.org/web/200710111943 ... tions.html

Re: New User. New Modules?

Costas, Thanks for the early Christmas present! The HCSB is an outstanding bible translation, and I can't believe you've made this wonderful translation available for free with Strong's numbers. I know you put a lot of work into this, and I'm confident others also appreciate what you have done. TW i...

Re: Calvin's Complete Commentary in Shared User Modules

Thanks Darrel, I just downloaded the file and installed it in TW and it seems to work just fine. So, it does seem that the author fixed the password issue. I'm the person who has the site in case any of you need to contact me. No change has been made to the Calvin Commentary, and the module has nev...

Re: copyright info on Chafer's "Major Bible Themes"

Jon, I believe Doctordavet and you are correct on your math and this is unfortunate. If we lived in Canada, this work would have been placed into the public domain in 2002 where the death plus 50 approach is used. In other words, this work will be in the public domain 20 years earlier for Canadians ...

Talking Dictionary

Hi Costas, I wanted to suggest a feature found in WORDsearch called the talking dictionary. When you are using Strong's, you have the option of having the Greek or Hebrew word pronounced. I've never been really sold on audio for bible programs...probably because the audio quality has been poor in th...

Costas,

I'm glad you decided to publish the CPDV as an official module. I think DrMiKEY did a great job!

Re: Catholic Public Domain Version

DrMiKEY, I used the same method that I used when making the Slovak language Bible, which posed similar problems. As to the difference in verse number, I have no idea, but after all, its not my place to judge this, I just kept the module as close to the original as possible. The verse numbering is no...

Re: Catholic Public Domain Version

DrMiKEY, I'm highly impressed by the work you did on the CPDV. What I liked most was your numbering approach for the books of Esther and Daniel. Even though there are similarities between the CPDV and the Douay-Rheims Bible, there are also differences. Esther, for exmaple, has 16 chapters in the Dou...

Re: Catholic Public Domain Version

I tried to keep the original numbering by adding a verse rule and listing the verse if it was different than KJV When you have a translation with a different textual basis, this is certainly a problem when creating a module. I was therefore curious as to how you dealt with this issue. I thought Jon...
