I have Word to Go 4 on the key looking flash drive I bought. If I want to update it to version 5 will it inactivate all my paid modules? Is it okay to install 5 on this purchased flash drive that has 4 on it now?

You can install it without a problem. Run the installer and choose as destination the drive d:\theWord (where d: is your flash drive)

hi, how should i upgrade Word 5 on mac...hv downloaded the 9.9mb exe file...also ran the exe file...but it still shows version as 4...... In which directory or folder this should be the 9 mb exe file be save....

Looking forward to v5.0. I am having trouble installing / upgrading though. I'm on Win 10 upgrading from v4. I get a dialog with the following message "The installer should only be run by the main theWord installer".

I tried changing the installation location and also tried doing a compact installation.

Ideas?

I suggest to temporarily turn of Windows Defenders, realtime protection, and try again.

I just tried with realtime protection off and I also find I cannot install or upgrade.
Costas is investigating it.

Hi Everyone,
it appears that the real reason that the installation fails is because the file tw3main.exe on the server has been tampered (and I can assume maliciously tampered), and so Windows Defender does it's job and ... deletes it.
I restored the proper file and now the download should work.
I am in the process of checking other files on the server for possible issues,

Will there soon be a new stable version? Version 5 is released in 2015. Afterwards, multiple betas are released. Isnt time for a new stable version?

I don't mess with betas, so forgive my asking: What significant enhancements should we expect in the next "stable" version?

the next release is always the latest stable beta, so I wouldn't be scared to use it.
Also, the list of new features in the new release is the sum of the changelog that comes in the .zip file of the beta. So you know what's there
