Since "-" symbol is too similar to the numerical character "One" in traditional & simplified Chinese, so theological school there will usually request using "~" instead in denoting bible reference in the academic paper under MLA format.
e.g. ChineseBookName 1:2-3 ==> ChineseBookName 1:2~3
