Has development permanently ceased?

Post by Shane15 »

I see there are a few people on this board but from what I can tell the app has not been updated since 2015.
It's a great program.
It would be awesome if it were open-sourced and a native Linux app made.

Anyone could start an open-sourced project that uses the same specification for modules. Ones have made apps for Android and Apple that do this to some extent. So now is your opportunity to start such a project. Get yourself a GitHub and advertise for helpers. May you be blessed.

Hi JG. Do you know if development has permanently ceased on this project?
I am currently unable to program or do much else because of a permanent disability.

Development is still ongoing, but at a slower pace since most needed features are in place.
We have some public beta that ones download. They are quite stable. You will see the added features in the changelog.txt

Cool. That's good to hear.
I have installed Wine and have been running theWord for about a week now.
Other than slowness, it seems to be working ok. More time will tell.

Put TW on an SSD and the speed is incredible. I run TW on a quad-core, 16 Gb, 500 Gb SSD under both Ubuntu-Mate 20.04 beta and LMDE 4 beta (both of them running the latest wine) and the performance is truly impressive!
