Proper small caps support

Is there any possibility of getting true small caps support instead of a work around of converting any lower case letters to upper case and then using the font size tag on only those converted characters?

Greetings mathetes,
Could you explain the usage so we can understand better. Since it is not built directly into the viewer we are using, I believe the way it done is pretty good. However, is there a case scenario where this does not work?

When creating a module, I automatically search for any words using a particular character style in my document and then tag those words before converting the file to a text file. It would be nicer if I didn't need to go to the extra work of determining which characters in a small caps word are in lower case letters and then only tag them and convert to uppercase. It's unfortunate that the viewer can't handle that directly.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding.
Are we talking about the size of uppercase characters?
Or something that automatically converts characters to uppercase?

I've contacted our viewer developer about \scaps which doesn't seem to work.
\caps does.

I would be talking about the \scaps tag. Instead of \scaps, a tag defining a -1 size font needs to be used after converting the lower case characters to upper case. And of course defining a -1 font size can't be used on any uppercase characters that are supposed to be upper case that happen have a small caps style, because they would then also be downsized.

The viewer's developer got back to us: "This tag [\scaps] does not work because TRichView does not support small-caps feature yet (and it is not planned for near future, sorry)"
So the best work around is {\caps words} or \caps words\caps0 then adjust \fs# [edit]

Mathetes, please can you give some example cases of the use of small caps. We can pass this info to the control developer if requested.

L[ORD], G[OD], J[EHOVAH], etc., as they are in many printed Bibles.
