I am using version 5 because version 6 is not able to be downloaded through the "check for newer version" inside of the program.

I am using version 6 - I was going to wait until the official release was actually promoted on the website, and was available to upgrade from within ver5.
I can say that the upgrade has been relatively smooth, except for a spacing issue in the copy Scripture dialogue. However, Jon was kind enough to provide a rough workaround that suits me fine.
Code: Select all
but only because I just upgraded computers, and accidentally loaded v6.

Still on 5.x on my mom's main machine because, well, for one, it Just Works - there are zero severe bugs and the only bugs that we've noticed are easy to work around. For two, too lazy to upgrade
For three, it's on a Windows 7 machine so it can't (or at least shouldn't) be connected to the Internet for an upgrade, which makes it a bit harder to upgrade, which contributes to reason two (too lazy).
Anywhere else I use theWord, I either have used or intend to use theWord 6. And I may get around to upgrading our one install of theWord 5 at some point, but really there's no good reason to upgrade that I know of, so, why mess with near-perfection?
(I usually don't take the "the old version works, why upgrade" route with software, but on an airgapped machine, it probably makes at least some sense here. Really, though, I ought to check the changelog and see what I'm missing, assuming there is a changelog.)
