A couple of caveats I want to mention about the commentary which are due to how this version is a simple conversion of the eSword version:
  • The linking which is done by hyperlinks in the online HTML version (http://www.spiritandtruth.org/id/revc.htm) occurs by way to "topic codes" (unique alphabetic section markers) in the text. This means that rather than simply clicking on a hyperlink, you have to "right-click" and select "Lookup in " in order to move to the target destination. Admittedly, this is more of a hassle.
  • Since eSword could not support embedded images, it used links to separate JPG image files which could be launched/viewed separately. These JPG files are included in a companion directory, but the links to them do not work in the converted version under TheWord. You'll have to browse to them separately using Windows Explorer.
Unfortunately, my time is very limited and I have other ministry priorities. There are a huge variety of different Bible Study packages and formats out there and I'm not in the position of having the time or resources to do the work to target each one in an optimum manner. Since I can't produce a version which fits into the capabilities of TheWord in a higher quality way, this version will have to suffice.

So working with the resource is unnecessarily awkward, but the content itself remains of high quality and matches the information, footnotes, etc. of any of the versions in other form, including the hardbound two-volume set.

In Christ, Tony

Another comprehensive source of eSword modules suitable for conversion for use in TheWord can be found here: http://e-sword-users.org/.

I've started to format The Expositor's Bible for HTML. If anyone wants to format it for TheWORD feel free, the books I have done are at the bottom of the page at this link:

http://www.swartzentrover.com/cotor/E-Books/Christ.htm

As of now I have Matthew - 1 Corinthians done

I have the balk of 2 Corinthians but need the Table of Contents as well as the Preface and/or Introduction so if anyone has the book can you please scan them & email them to me so I can add that book as well. I'll add more books as I get them done.

My Email is [email protected]

Thanks

To the Readers of The Holy Pig!!

OMLB of module builders are planning on partnering with Rick's work on The Expositor's Bible. We plan on converting every one of Rick's works to be used with TW.

We have 3 Expositor's Bible modules already available at DDT - Joshua, 2Samuel & Hebrews. Two more are already in the proof queue: Gospel of John Vol 2 & 1Samuel. One more is already in the planning stage: Exodus.

We'll soon start to work on Rick's files (currently Matthew-1Corinthians).

Visit us at www.DoctorDaveT.com if you're interested in these modules (or any of the other 200+ we currently have available).

Rick, I appreciate so much your work and spirit of generosity. Thank you so very much.

It contains the 37 volumes of the Ante-Nicene, Nicene and Post-Nicene Early Church Fathers. Included in this module:

A navigation menu.
All Footnotes hyperlinked.
The Deutrocanon/Apocrapha. ( which all coorisponding references are linked to )

An Index of Subjects is included when available but are hyperlinked to the web.

Source:

http://www.ccel.org/fathers.html

The entire Church Fathers library is Public Domain.

God Bless and Happy New Year !

Looks good, will check it out. Thank you!
The DC books that you mention, are they from the Douay-Rheims Bible?

Edit: I have found out that it is the KJV.

Looks like it took you a long time to make this. Looks very good.

What's different between this module and the one released on TW's site?

Church Fathers

The differences are, the module on theWord site has:

An official TW Identifier.
Introduction added in the About section of Module Preferences.
Formatted with additional carriage returns.

Costas was gracious enough to add this module to his web site with the differences mentioned above. However, I liked the formatting of the original module and thought I'd offer it on the 4Shared site. I didn't want to further bother Costas w/ my complaint.

To Costas: I apologize for not mentioning this to you in private before now.

I am very grateful for this work and there is no need to apologize for anything! I just want to follow some standard formatting specs which i applied to the module, that's all!

By the way, i am not sure of the extra line breaks: what i did was to increase the line spacing but i didn't add extra lines: maybe this is what you mean? The first modules of theWord had single line spacing, but from a point onward, i decided to increase the default line-spacing for better readability!

Just to add that i also applied Gentium and Cardo for Greek and Hebrew and used maroon color for it.

I'm working on a Heidelberg Catechism (1563) module and plan on doing the 1987 updated version as well. Anyone else interested in it when I'm done? Also, what is the best way to disseminate it when it's completed? I also have a Haitian Creole Bible converted to TW.
